The Escalade-V’s 6.2 supercharged V8 produces 242 more horsepower (682 vs. 440) and 143 lbs.-ft. more torque (653 vs. 510) than the Navigator L’s 3.5 turbo V6.

An engine control system that can shut down some of the engine’s cylinders helps improve the Escalade-V’s fuel efficiency. The Navigator L doesn’t offer a system that can shut down part of the engine.

The Escalade-V has a standard locking fuel door which locks and unlocks with the power locks. The fuel filler door is not lockable on the Navigator L. A locking fuel door helps prevent fuel theft and vandalism, such as sugar in the tank.

The Escalade-V’s launch control uses engine electronics to hold engine RPM’s precisely in order to provide the most stable and rapid acceleration possible, using all of the available traction. The Navigator L doesn’t offer launch control.

For better traction, the Escalade-V has larger tires than the Navigator L (285/40R24 vs. 275/50R22).

The Escalade-V is 10 inches shorter than the Navigator L, making the Escalade-V easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces.

The front grille of the Escalade-V uses electronically controlled shutters to close off airflow and reduce drag when less engine cooling is needed. This helps improve highway fuel economy. The Navigator L doesn’t offer active grille shutters.

The Escalade-V ESV’s cargo area provides more volume than the Navigator L.

The Escalade-V has a standard heads-up display that projects speed, warning, navigation instruction and infotainment readouts in front of the driver’s line of sight, allowing drivers to view information without diverting their eyes from the road. The Navigator L doesn’t offer a heads-up display.

The Escalade-V’s power side swing out doors make it much easier to load and unload kids and cargo. One touch opens the door, before you even get to the sport utility. The Navigator L doesn’t offer a power rear door.

When the Escalade-V is put in reverse, both rearview mirrors tilt from their original position. This gives the driver a better view of the curb during parallel parking maneuvers. Shifting out of reverse puts the mirrors into their original positions. The Navigator L’s mirrors don’t automatically adjust for backing.

The Escalade-V’s Adaptive Park Assist can parallel park or back into a parking spot by itself, stopping and changing direction automatically. The Navigator L doesn’t offer an automated parking system.
